Kuchu no Hako is a collective art project organized by Amigos of Medina Azahara for the Archaeological Ensemble of Madinat Al-Zahra, which includes a ceramic workshop at the School of Art “Dionisio Ortiz” (where the sculpture pieces are created), a public installation in the courtyard of the Museum and the organisation of a cycle of conferences and debates on ceramics, heritage, architecture and contemporary art.

Kuchu no Hako is made up of about 2,000 Sculptural Ceramic Pieces, linked together, floating above the courtyard of the Museum. The module used is 240 cm, the same that governs the design of the Madinat al-Zahra Museum.

Kuchu no Hako has been specifically projected to be installed in the museum’s courtyard. The random colors and brightness of the ceramic pieces and their combination with other contemporary materials are transformed into mobile colors, changing reflections with sunlight and blowing in the wind.
